CHRISTIANS in the country have again been told to be united and vote for a God-fearing leader during the forthcoming elections.
The chairman of the Gowon Estate Churches Association in Lagos, Darlington Ajitemisan who gave the advice at activities marking the one year anniversary of the association noted that it was only in unity that righteousness and peace could be installed in the country.
According to him, it has been a year of triumph over the opposition faced by the churches, as their buildings were marked for demolition by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), last year.
Ajitemisan said that it had been a painstaking experience, adding that Christians are laudable citizens, but if those who are supposed to be civil now become a Dracula, an object of terror and use the law to oppress us, we will not take kindly to it”.
He said the anniversary programme would give Christians an opportunity to pray for peace, unity, a smooth electioneering and transition, in the country as well as foster unity amongst church denominations.
