N'Abba Defeated: As ANPP Trounces PDP in the NOrth

Ruling Party Loses Key Seat
Results began filtering through on Sunday, a day after Nigerians voted in the country's first poll since soldiers relinquished power in 1999 after 15 years in charge. Despite widespread violence before the poll, voting went ahead peacefully in most regions, except in parts of the oil-rich Niger Delta, which has been dogged by tribal warfare. (MSNBC/Reuters)
