Triumph of PDP Fraud: Guobadia to "Validate" Obasanjo Tomorrow
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Abel Guobadia, said yesterday that the winner of weekend’s presidential elections would emerge not later than tomorrow. Guobadia, who briefed the press about 1.40 p.m. at the Media Results Centre in Abuja, said the results of the polls were being processed on local government basis. He said that “so far, 171 local government areas representing 20 per cent have been received and processed. This approximates to about 8.1 million votes with PDP receiving about 75 per cent, ANPP 19 per cent, APGA 1% and the remaining percentage going to the other parties. "By tomorrow (today) most states will bring their collated results to the headquarters. The resident electoral commissioners and party agents will sit down together to enable the agents see as we collate the final results. "By this time tomorrow (today), we should be getting quite close to announcing the final results,” he stated. (Vanguard)
