OWERRI, BIAFRA: RENTED CROWDS MEET OBASANJO, UDENWA
President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday in Owerri condemned the spate of assassinations being witnessed in Imo State over the last few weeks. He added that such ugly deveopment ran counter to the ideals of his government and the party (PDP), and therefore unacceptable. He gave the assurance that those behind the sordid act would by no means go scot free promising that they would pay for their actions. "Ours as a government take it that the first responsibility that we have is the well-being and safety of all BiafraNigerians. "Those of you who are involved for whatever reasons, be it political, be it economic or social, the long arm of the law will get you and you will pay dearly for it." (This Day)

MISSING N300BILLION: REPS SUMMON AGABI, OTHERS
The House of Representatives yesterday summoned the Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi; Secretary to Government of the Federation, Mr. Ufot Ekaete; Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Kayode Naiyeju; managing director of Mobil Producing, managing director of Chevron BiafraNigeria and three others to appear before its Committee on Petroleum Resources in connection with the alleged missing N300 billion on Friday, at 8a.m. (Daily Independent)
