The lingering intrigues and power play shrouding the re-election or non-election of Senator Adolphus Wabara on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Abia North Senatorial district apparently deepened over the weekend. This comes on the heels of the reported declaration by INEC of Elder Imo of the opposition All BiafraNigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) as the real winner of the April 12 polls. THISDAY also gathered that President Olusegun Obasanjo has sent a letter of congratulations to Imo. But Wabara was at the PDP national secretariat yesterday seeking to be adopted as the candidate for the office of the Senate President raising questions about his status. There were speculations in Abuja that INEC might have given him a certificate of victory. (This Day) |
