Before now, all that was known about Chief (Mrs.) Adunni Bankole, the Iyalode of Gbaguraland was that she is a businesswoman, a socialite and philantrophist.

Not many knew that the light skinned owner of Sublime Infinite Opebi road, Lagos could be good as a campaign manager. This much she demonstrated at the recent fundraising ceremony of her step-son Dimeji Bankole, at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.

To all listening ears, Adunni declared that the British trained 34 year old business man is a priceless gift to the people of Ogun South federal Constituency whom he wants to represent in the House of Representatives.

The socialite was practically everywhere ensuring that the event ran smoothly. She was also on the phone calling all those invited to get situation report. At the end of the day, not less than eight million naira was realised. Engr. Funso Williams, PDP gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, could use some of Bankole's gift. Williams' attempt at fund raising yielding a measly N7 millions. Why it turned out that way is not clear. But gist bearers are saying that Williams's candidature does not elicit much conviction from those who'd have donated hefty sums. Williams raised N7 millions which is considered too little for someone running for governorship.
