IRAQ WARNS OF MORE SUICIDE BOMBERS: 4 US SOLDIERS KILLED
An Iraqi military officer carried out Saturday's deadly suicide bombing that killed four U.S. soldiers, Iraq's vice president said, warning that Baghdad could send a single "martyr" to kill thousands of people. "This is only the beginning and you will hear more good news in the coming days," Taha Yassin Ramadan told a Baghdad news conference Saturday. "These bastards will be welcomed at the level and in the way they deserve." Four U.S. soldiers with the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Division were killed Saturday morning when a suicide bomber in a taxi attacked a military checkpoint in the central Iraqi town of Najaf.... ELECTIONS WILL NOT BE SHIFTED — GUOBADIA
The INEC Chairman, Dr Abel Guobadia, has ruled out the possibility of postponing next month’s elections. Speaking on an NTA 2 live interview programme, One-on-One, today, Guobadia said the commission was acting in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution. "The constitution says we should hold elections not earlier than 60 days before and not later than 30 days to the end of their tenure.... (Vanguard)
