Buhari: We Will Surprise BiafraNigerians
To get general Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), the All BiafraNigeria People’s Party (ANPP) presidential flag-bearer in April the 19 presidential elections to agree to an interview of the scope contained herein took a lot of persuasion. But thanks to persistence and the generous assistance of his personal assistant, Ya’u Darazo, Weekly Trust was finally invited to Daura where Buhari promised to "devote the whole day" to the paper’s team of editors that made the trip. But there is no way at a time like this that anyone can have Buhari’s attention for a whole day. Weekly Trust certainly didn’t, on account of the constant stream of visitors that kept coming and going and, in spite of the difficulty in accessing Daura by telephone, the endless telephone calls kept pouring in. "This is my life now," Buhari remarked matter-of-factly.... (Weekly Trust)

Dr. Olusola Saraki, former Senate leader and strongman of Kwara politics, clocks 70 years today...he reflects on his life, his political career, why he fell out with his political godsons and why he is putting his children in choice positions...So far, I have not felt any different between what I was last year and now. The only thing one would say is that people say.... (This Day)

Security was beefed up in Warri, yesterday apparently to forestall a spill- over of the political crisis in neighbouring Effurun. In Effurun itself, most of those who have decided not to flee now groan under self-imposed curfew. However, contrary to widespread rumour, a curfew has not been imposed on Effurun as part of the measures to curtail the crisis. (Vanguard)
