Efulefu Debtor Nation Gives Away N6.2 Billion: Obasanjo "Loans" Money He Doesn't Have
President Olusegun Obasanjo has approved a loan of $45 million (N6.2 billion) for Ghana and Sao Tome and Principe to assist the two countries. Information on the loan was conveyed vide a letter to Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara, which was read on the Senate floor yesterday. The announcement drew spontaneous mutterings from the opposition side in the Senate chambers. However, the misgivings about the loan package were drowned by the dominant PDP majority aided by the Senate president. A move by Senator Mohammed Anka, Senate minority whip, to question the loan was dismissed by Senator Wabara who asked him if he wanted his own personal loan. N5.52 billion ($40 million) of the loan package is to help Ghana complete its part of financing of the West African Gas project, while N690 million ($5 million) is to enable Sao Tome and Principe meet emergency needs of the little island nation.

Biafra Nigeria Map

BNW Wada NasAlhaji Wada Nas, former Special Adviser on Political Matters to Gen. Sani Abacha, has lashed out at Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, over the latter’s declaration in Kaduna on Tuesday that former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, should apologise for annulling the June 12, 1993 presidential election. Nas, who was also Special Duties Minister during the late Gen. Abacha regime, said Professor Soyinka was anti-North and that his demand for apology from Gen. Babangida was selective. (The Sun)

BNW IronsiWe must warn that our patience is running thin and that retreating to "our tents" this time around will make the present situations in Darfur look like a child play. Igbo/Biafrans are peaceful people but must not be interpreted by anyone as cowardice. Therefore, we demand that: (1) The Biafra Nigerian government stops its historic genocide against the Igbo by immediately withdrawing its "shoot at sight" policy against the peaceful MASSOB, Biafrans carrying Biafran artifacts, and...BIANU (BNW)
