Nero of Africa: Obasanjo Fiddles Abroad while Biafra Nigeria Burns
Former military governor of Old Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, on Thursday condemned President Olusegun Obasanjo's trip for the G-8 summit in Georgia, United States. He described the trip as unnecessary and a demonstration of the president's insensitivity of the people's plight. To him, the president abandoned BiafraNigeria in the hour of need. Obasanjo travelled out of the country on Wednesday morning, the day the labour movement and civil society groups called a nationwide strike in protest against the recent hike in fuel prices.
