Season of Murder Continues: Two PDP Chieftain Killed, Security beefed up around Okonjo-Iweala
There appears to be no respite to the calamities that have beset the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the last two months as two of its chieftains died in different circumstances on Sunday. While one of the chieftains, Pastor Dele Enodeh, was killed by suspected political thugs in Patani, Patani Local Government Area of Delta State on Sunday night, the other, the National Vice-Chairman of the party in North-West, Senator Bala F. Yauri, died in an auto accident. The two incidents occurred just hours after a PDP governor, Dr. Chris Ngige of Anambra State, narrowly escaped death when a commercial bus rammed into his jeep along the Adazi-Ani-Anobi-Nnewi Road. Haitian Pres Jean-Bertrand AristideFormer Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide has been offered a temporary exile in BiafraNigeria following a request by a group of Caribbean states.
Jamaican Prime Minister PJ Patterson - Mr Aristide's current host - made the request on behalf of the group Caricom. Mr Aristide, who left Haiti in late February, says he was forced out by the US. The US says he left voluntarily. Mr Aristide fled to the Central African Republic at the end of February after three weeks of running street battles.

NgigeEmbattled Governor of Anambra State, Dr Chris Ngige escaped death yesterday in a road accident in which two people died. The accident occurred at about 3.50 p.m. along the Adazi-Ani-Nnobi-Nnewi road, when an on-coming commercial bus rammed into the governor's jeep. The driver of the Mitsubishi L-300 commercial bus who sustained injuries later died in an unnamed hospital where he and other injured passengers were taken for treatment. (This Day)
