Embattled National Cha-irman of All Progressive
Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Chekwas Okorie, has alleged that President Olusegun Obasanjo influenced Ikemba Nnewi,
Chief Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, to accept the position of the national leader of the factional group of the
party. Reacting to Ojukwu's acceptance letter dated January 21, Okorie said since the crisis within the party
became a public knowledge, he has briefed and consulted Ojukwu on all development but added that events changed
after the President spoke with Ojukwu on January 17. In a statement by Okorie, "Ojukwu told me that Chief
Victor Umeh and his group visited him in his hotel room and he told them that it is unacceptable to form an internal
problem of the party to be broadcast to the general public through a press conference...
