Sharia implementation: 50-member Shura Council for Kano constituted
KANO state government has approved the appointment of a 50-member Shura Advisory Council to serve as an advisory body to the leadership in the state.

A press release issued to Daily Triumph and signed by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) indicated that the function of the council would include advice on religious matters that have direct bearing on the life of Muslim Ummah in the state.
The council is billed for inauguration by Governor Ibrahim Shekarau of the state today at Africa House, Government House, Kano by 10.00 a.m prompt.
According to the statement, Sheikh Malam Isa Waziri, the Wazirin Kano is the chairman of the council while Sheikh Na'ibi Sulaiman Wali is the deputy chairman.
Members of the council include, Malam Abdullahi Muhd Dutse, chairman Hisbah Board, Malam Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan; Justice Abubakar Wali, Malam Abubakar Salihu Aikawa, Malam Adamu Gwaram, Malam Ado Muhammad, Ustaz Sharif Ahmad Gabari, Sheikh Aminuddeen Abubakar, Prof. Auwalu H. Yadudu and Malam Bashir Tijjani Uthman.
Others are Alhaji Dahiru Rabi'u, Grand Khadi, Malam Farouk Sani Kafinga, Sheikh Ibrahim Abubakar Ramadan, Malam Ibrahim Khalil, Malam Ibrahim Mu'azzam S. Maibushira, Malam Ibrahim Shehu Maihula, Sheikh Ibrahim Umar Kabo (Chairman, Shari'ah Commission), Prof. Ibrahim Umar, Sheikh Idris Kuliya Alkali and Sheikh Khalifa Is'haq Rabi'u.
The rest are Sheikh Isma'ila Ibrahim Khalifa, Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa, Prof. Muhd Sani Zahraddeen (Chairman, Zakkah Commission), Malam Mahdi Abubakar Sadiq, Alhaji Mahe Bashir Wali, Walin Kano, Sheikh Mahmud Salga, Malam Muhammad bn Uthman, Sheikh Mukhtari Atamma, Malam Muzammil Sani Hanga and Malam Nasidi G/Dutse.
Also Malam Nasiru Nasiru Adamu Liman, Malam Nuhu Musa Nuhu, Malam Nura Sheikh Manzo Arzai, Sheikh Khalifa Qaribullahi Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, Malam Sa'idu Ahmad Dukawa, Alhaji Salisu Shehu, Sheikh Sammani Yusuf Makwarari, Sheikh Sani Shehu Maihula and Ustaz Sani Shu'aib are members.
The membership also has Prof. Shehu Ahmad Galadanci, Justice Sunusi Chiroma Yusuf, Sheikh Tijjani Bala Kalarawi, Ustaz Tuhami Shehu Atiku, Malam Umar Sani Fagge, Malam Yahaya Tanko, Malam Yahya Faruq Chedi and Ustaz Yusuf Ali respectively.
